Common questions

I just got my invite. What do I do?

Open the App Store invite link on the iPhone you intend to use Bryl with. Install the app. On first launch, set up FaceID, agree to the on-device microphone permission, and Bryl is ready to record. The first transcription will prompt to download the on-device speech model — about 250 MB, on Wi-Fi, one-time.

Can I use Bryl on iPad or Mac?

Yes — Bryl is a Universal app for iPhone and iPad with M-series silicon. Mac is unlikely; the privacy story is tied to the Secure Enclave on a device that lives in the room with you.

Which devices are supported?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later (iPhone XS and newer). The best experience is on devices with 6 GB RAM or more (iPhone 14 and newer), which can run the full on-device transcription and note-generation stack. Older devices fall back to Apple Speech for transcription.

How do I get a copy of the architectural attestation for my compliance file?

It is published as a public page at bryl.app/attestation. If you need a signed PDF or your jurisdiction requires specific language, email legal@bryl.app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Bryl → Cancel Subscription. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I want to be removed from the waitlist.

Email privacy@bryl.app from the address you signed up with. We'll remove you within one business day.

Verify the privacy claim yourself

We document this elsewhere too, but it's worth repeating: enable Airplane Mode on your iPhone, open Bryl, record a session, transcribe it, generate a note, and export it. Everything works. If anything required network access for content, it would fail in Airplane Mode. It does not.
